Online innovator and tech solutions provider, GAN has been granted privileged Casino Service Industry Enterprise license from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. The license allows the company to provide real money online gaming in the state and sets the stage for the provider to carry the credentials to other stringent jurisdictions, including other US states with regulated online gaming.
Having first applied for the license in 2013, GAN has reportedly long maintained that a key benefit of partnering with the firm is “the guaranteed integrity and strong compliance profile of our current and historic business activities, clean source of investment funds and the unquestioned suitability of our major shareholders, directors, and employees to be licensed in New Jersey.”
In a press release Tuesday, GAN CEO, Dermot Smurfit, held up the license award as proof of those statements.
Although GAN, then known as Game Account Network, earlier provided a platform and other services to an existing NJ online operator, this marks one of the first times a B2B technology provider has secured a CSIE license in New Jersey.
The highly successful Betfair Casino launched on their platform from the Golden Nugget Atlantic City in November 2013.
The media handout went on to state that New Jersey year on year, March 2017 online gambling revenues, are up 40% from March 2016. The total GGR for online in NJ for 2016 was $197m – up 32% from 2015.
GAN went on to piggyback on predictions that neighboring Pennsylvania will soon regulate online gaming and noted that they have a forward-looking agreement with Penn’s #1 land based operator, Parx Casino, to provide services if and when online regulation makes it out of the statehouse in Harrisburg.
In addition to developing and supplying enterprise-level B2B software systems, GAN develops online games as well as converts land based slot machines and table games into online equivalents for such manufacturers as Aristocrat, Ainsworth, KONAMI, Everi (formerly Multimedia Games), Incredible Technologies, GamoMat, Reel Time Gaming, High Flyer Games and Scientific Games (via DEQ Systems Corp).
